The minimum wage standard
in Shenzhen will have a sharp increase from July 1, 2006. The Labor
and Social Security Bureau held a press conference on May 30 and
announced Shenzhen's minimum wage standard for the year 2006:
The minimum hourly rate
within the Special District is RMB4.66 or monthly RMB810. A 17.4%
increase comparing to 2005 figure.
For the two districts
outside the Special District - Baoan and Longhua - the minimum hourly
and monthly wages are RMB4.02 and RMB700 respectively. A 20.7% increase
comparing to 2005 figure.
Allowances for special
working conditions such as overtime, night-shift, high and low temperature,
work under a well, exposure to poisonous substances, will not be
included into the minimum wage.
The above 2006 minimum
wage is effective from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007.
