According to the second
phase of CEPA, starting from 1 January 2005, there are new additional
714 zero import tariff goods announced that led to a dramatic rise
in Hong Kong goods enjoying the zero tariff benefits
The new additional goods
have basically included all goods under current productions in Hong
Kong. The increment of new categories would be beneficial to the
co-operation between the trading activities of Mainland and Hong
Kong.
Compared to the same period in 2004, the imported Hong Kong goods
for CEPA have been increased from 3 to 16 categories that are mainly
components in medicines, clothes, raw plastics and plastic goods.
There are three new categories of goods in the execution of second
phrase CEPA have become the major growing point of January's CEPA
imported goods. Included: the medicines composed of biologic alkaline
and derivative, medicines with hormone and the cotton mixture weave,
whose imported values are US$1.06 million, US$ 100 thousand and
US$ 52 thousand respectively.
