Further Opening Up RMB Business to Foreign Financial Institution

China will open up RMB business in Shantou, Ningbo to foreign financial institution in December 2005; and open up RMB business in Harbin City, Changcun, Ranzhou, Yinchun, Nanning in advance. Under this circumstance, the RMB business has been opened up to 25 cities to foreign financial institution. Any foreign financial institution in the above mentioned cities meet the specific basic condition could provide RMB service to Chinese capital enterprises, foreign-owned enterprises, foreigner, Hong Kong people and Macau people.

The operating capital (for RMB business) for foreign bank decreased from RMB500 million to RMB400 million and the operating capital for WFOE, Joint Venture Bank decreased from RMB300 million to RMB200 million.

進一步開放外資銀行人民幣業務

12月5日我國向外資銀行開放汕頭、寧波的人民幣業務；同時提前開放哈爾濱、長春、蘭州、銀川、南寧5個城市。我國對外資銀行開放人民幣業務的城市增加到25個，在這些城市中，符合法定條件的外資銀行可以向中資企業、外資企業、外國人和港澳同胞提供人民幣服務。

外國銀行分行人民幣業務營運資金最高一檔由5億元人民幣降為4億元。外資獨資、合資銀行在華分行人民幣業務營運資金由3億元降低?2億元。
