On 10 December 2005 12:00 am, the fixed-line telephone numbers used in Dongguan are upgraded to eight-digit. The phone number to be upgraded by the following method: an extra number "2" will be added to phone number starting with number "2" and an extra number "8" will be added to all other phone number.
